Suspension Of Disbelief presents a selection of videos by Janene Higgins created in collaboration with Elliott Sharp, who will provide live scores. Their work together in opera, installation, and live performance has been presented at the Ruhrtriennale, The Kitchen, Roulette, Konzerthaus Berlin, Issue Project Room, Theater Stuttgart, and the New York Video Festival at Lincoln Center.
Media artist Higgins works in projection design, single-channel video, installation, and video performance. She has collaborated with many of New York’s preeminent composers and improvisers of new music, and her work has been performed and exhibited in galleries, theaters, and festivals worldwide. Elliott Sharp is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, artist, and author whose work draws on chaos theory, fractals, genetics, and literature and has encompassed electronica, opera, improvisation, noise, and graphic notation. Winner of the Berlin Prize and a Guggenheim Fellowship, Sharp’s “Storm of the Eye” was composed for violinist Hilary Hahn’s Grammy-winning album “In 32 Pieces”.
