MAINTAIN RIGHT
JUSTIN H. LONG AND ROBERT “MEATBALL” LORIE
D.B.A FUNNER PROJECTS
MARCH 3 – MARCH 23, 2012
OPENING RECEPTION MARCH 4, 2012 7-9PM

Robert Lorie, more commonly know as “Meatball,” was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He began his art education at Miami-Dade Community College and then went on to finish at The Museum School of Fine Arts, receiving a Bachelors of Fine Arts in 2006. After graduating, longing for Miami’s weather, he moved back and became immersed in the Miami art scene.
Justin H. Long, hailing from Miami, Florida, searches the oceans for inspiration in his art. His artwork consists of paintings, installations, kinetic sculpture and videos. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Florida International University and his Master of Fine Arts at California Institute of the Arts.
Lorie and Long began making videos together in 2002, including Croquetas, Visual Diarrhea and The Epic. Both continued working on projects together, starting with the kinetic installation, The Youth Fair, Bro, and in 2008 eventually decided to do business as the collaborative collective, Funner Projects – a name that they felt adequately reflected the simplicity and silliness of the basis of their work. Choosing from a broad range of different subject matters, from forgotten heroes to childhood memories, Funner Projects rebels from the world of cookie-cutter art. Maintain Right destroys conventions by pushing performance to the point of phenomenon using a homemade DIY crossbow.
